PARKING, PICK-UP & DROP-OFF INFORMATION

As a downtown church, weekday, day-time events can be a challenge when it comes to parking, dropping off and picking up children.  In order to help us control the flow of traffic, as well as ensure each  child’s safety, please use the following procedures when dropping off and picking up your child for VBS:

DROPPING OFF YOUR CHILD

Whether parking and escorting your child in, or simply dropping off, please enter at the new CrossRoads entrance on Spring Street.  Please walk your child in on their first day of VBS. Children will then be escorted to the opening assembly in the Sanctuary.  An information, t-shirt sales, and registration table will be located in the gathering area to the left of the welcome desk.

PICKING UP YOUR CHILD

VBS pick up is at 12 Noon.  At the end of VBS activities, all children who are not with VBS workers will be escorted into the CrossRoads entrance. There will be several people from the VBS team ready to greet you and ask you your “password” before you can pick up your child.   Please have your “pick up password” from your child’s registration form available. For your child’s safety, no child will be released without this password.

PARKING

Whether you choose to park and drop off or pick up your child on foot, or if you are a VBS volunteer, there are specific parking options during the daytime hours.  Free city parking is available in the following  locations:

1.    The Bank of America lot at the corner of Spring and Vine Streets has 12 spaces reserved for FBC.  These are first come, first served. Spaces 1-6 and 13-18 are marked for FBC. Please DO NOT park in spaces not marked for FBC, as your vehicle may be towed.
2.    The city lot at the corner of Spring and Sevier Streets.  All spaces first come, first served.
3.    Street parking in designated spaces – on the side of the church on Spring Street and in the front of the church on East Main.  Look for the cones, tape and signs that indicate that they are reserved for VBS. All other street parking has a two hour parking limit and is regularly patrolled by police.

If you have questions concerning parking, drop off, or pick up, please contact the church office at 615-893-2514.
